Black Tie Garden Ceremony Fuses with High-Energy Reception Party
Today’s Santa Barbara black tie wedding was classic and sophisticated in every aspect, with a perfect dose of reception energy to wrap up the night. This special day was brought to us by Islay Events and LA-based wedding photographer Alexander Thomas helped to tell this couple’s love story through stunning photographs.
Both the ceremony and reception were held at Santa Barbara’s tranquil, Mediterranean Villa Verano. The couple rolled up to the event in style in a vintage black Chevrolet and Luxe Santa Barbara provided additional transportation as well. The ceremony took place in the venue’s landscaped garden teeming with white details from the framing drapery to the ceremony chairs to the floral designs and sprinkled rose petals in the ceremony aisle provided by Knot Just Flowers. The chic bride wore a strapless, mermaid-style wedding gown and the groom a white tuxedo jacket paired with black pants and a bowtie.
Islay Events worked their magic at the reception, adding romantic string lights above every square inch of the panoramic rooftop terrace. The couple and guests enjoyed a wedding meal served by Santa Barbara’s Pure Joy Catering, and the bride did a quick outfit change into a lace bridal mini dress before the toasts and cutting of the cake. As the dance floor opened up for the evening the party really let loose and colorful, light-up batons helped to send off the newlyweds. The day wouldn’t have been possible without wedding planner Amie Bri Events.
From Kelsey Peterson of Islay Events:
Amanda and Joshua tied the knot on 9/25/21 at the Villa Verano Estate located in Santa Barbara, CA. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour near the Pool Terrace while Pure Joy Catering passed around appetizers. The couple made their grand entrance as newlyweds and had their first dance on the Reception Terrace, looking over beautiful Santa Barbara County.
After dinner service, the bride changed into her 2nd dress of the evening to kick off the toasts, cutting the cake, and of course, dancing. Once the guests filled the dance floor, the bride brought out large glow sticks pass out to get the party started. At the end of the evening, guests gathered to celebrate the send-off of the newlyweds, Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
