DIY Backyard Wedding with a Poolside Ceremony
From Veils & Tails Photography:
This was one of the DIY-est weddings I've ever been to. And it was such an unexpected joy. This exceedingly low-maintenance bride reached out to me only a few weeks before, describing it as a backyard wedding with her bulldogs. I expected a small, casual, simple wedding. But while it was amazingly stress free, it was also FABULOUS.
Firstly, and she’ll blush at the mention because everyone at the wedding kept gushing over this fact, the bride designed and sewed her own wedding dress! And have you ever seen a more elegant bride? She also did her own hair and makeup. The wedding took place at the groom's parents backyard, the ceremony centered around a gorgeous garden swimming pool. And around the grounds, the decor, which had been set up by friends and family, was perfection. The bride had collected stunning colored glass goblets which made the table settings shine, and the bistro lights were plentiful.
To cap off how extremely personal and unique this entire event was, their close friend officiated, the bride's aunt did all the flowers, family members also baked the cake, and two friends even built the main round bar!
Afterward, to my extreme joy, they let the bulldogs out for a few silly and joyful minutes to make sure they were included in their parents’ wedding day.
