Dreamy Autumn Wedding with Pleasant Mauve Accents
From the Bride:
Mike and I had a clear vision of what we wanted when we started our wedding venue search. We are avid trail runners and love the Santa Barbara hills, we wanted a venue in Santa Barbara that highlighted all the beauty that nature has to offer. When we came across the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, we knew right away that this was the place we wanted to seal the deal!
We wanted special touches that would represent who we are as a couple - nature, our pups & great food! Our goal was to blend our vision into the venue keeping it natural and rustic – every detail of our floral, food and even the use of bamboo plates, cutlery and recyclable wine cups fit into the plan. We sourced local boutique vendors, met with them and built relationships to create our magical day.
Geoff and Lyndsi Photography, a husband and wife dynamic duo worked together to capture every moment of the day. Another husband and wife team took care of florals, MacKenzie and Sean Curtis of Topa Flora Ojai. The pieces they created were the perfect accent for our wedding and reception. My father and husband built the arbor, Carly Holland created signs and we made candles out of tree branches to accent the tables, family and friends added the rest of the decorative touches. Jaime Mangone from LuJane Events tied all the moving pieces together in the final days leading up to our day.
We wanted to take advantage of all the beauty the museum has to offer so we chose to have a happy hour outside immediately following the ceremony. We worked with Liza Saragosa (I’ll Have What She’s Having) and Becky Wilerding of (Baking the Goods). Together they created a 20’ (yes, that is 20 feet!) cheese, charcuterie and dip wonder of food art… it was devoured by our guests! We kept dinner simple choosing everyone’s favorite: Tacos by Alvaro.
Our 15 tier chocolate spice and olive oil citrus naked wedding cake, nestled on an engraved tree stump was the creative vision of Natalie Manning of (My Goodness Bakeshop) based out of Ventura. Local singer Mike Moody sang throughout the ceremony and happy hour, and Gary Ransom (Ransom Entertainment) was our DJ.
