Not Your Average Backyard Wedding with an Open-Concept Reception
Today’s lively couple pulled out all the stops for their impressive wedding ceremony and reception held at groom’s mom’s estate in Santa Ynez. Design played a major factor in the day and the couple thought through every single detail of how to make their day enjoyable for everyone involved and one no one will soon forget.
Pink was a definite theme for the day starting with light pink invitations and stationary from both Papel & Co. and Proper Letter, as well as the swim trunks the groomsmen sported as they prepared for the day. The bride had her wedding look done by TEAM Hair & Makeup and her bridesmaids also donned bridesmaid dresses in various pink hues. The bride herself had two different outfits for the day, first slipping into a lavishly-detailed wedding gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves and plenty of lace trim.
At the ceremony, the color pink was again seen covering the wedding arch with lush florals from Alexis Ireland. Guests also sat in modern acrylic ghost chairs and were free to grab a drink as they waited for the bride and groom to make their entrances.
At cocktail hour, the drinks continued to flow from the bartenders at Cocktail Concierge, complete with personalized stir sticks and bar menus. The reception was held under a magnificent white tent frame from Bright Event Rentals and was set up to be more conducive to an atmosphere that flowed and that would allow for more intermingling. Bella Vista Designs and Ventura Rental also provided both rentals and decor for the evening. Seating consisted of lounge nooks and high tables, however, the couple did not want a typical seated dinner. Instead, the couple had a few different food stations set up for guests to enjoy including a charcuterie table during cocktail hour and a Hemingway’s Mobile Oyster Bar. Then, for dinner, the pair had a cheese wheel cake, a Dim Sum station, plus food from Slate Catering, the Valley Piggery, and The Birria Boyz food truck were all involved.
After dinner, the couple poured a champagne tower, cut their gorgeous four-tiered pink wedding cake from Lele Patisserie, and shared a few dances before the sun went down and the bride changed into her second look: a stylish white jumpsuit. The party really started when guests began to make use of the bounce house from Calabasas Bounce House and when the bride popped out of a large, fake wedding cake, all to the tune of music from Haute Mobile Disco. Wedding photographer David Mendoza didn’t miss a beat during this spectacular event, and we’re sure glad he didnt!
