Rainy Day Wedding with Sequin Details
While it may have an uncharacteristically rainy Santa Barbara wedding day, the weather certainly couldn't dampen this couple's spirits. The bride chose a non-traditional wedding dress, opting for a long rose gold sequined gown and a pink veil. Her bridal bouquet featured hot pink peonies, stock and amaranthus, and her bridesmaids wore dresses in various shades of blue and pink.
For the ceremony and reception location, the Santa Barbara Historical Museum’s beautiful courtyards were selected. California wedding florist Anna Le Pley Taylor decorated the Santa Barbara wedding venue’s existing wedding arbor with flowers in a palette of bright pink and burgundy with pops of yellow. And magically, as ceremony time neared, the rain stopped. As the couple stood, listening to the officiant, the clouds parted and the sun came out just in time for their first kiss as man and wife.
Afterwards, the couple went to the rooftop of the Santa Barbara hotel the Kimpton Canary for photos with the dramatic clouds from the storm. Then, wedding dinner from Santa Barbara’s Mony’s Mexican Food was held in Casa Covarrubias. Long reception tables featured wedding centerpieces of garden roses and dahlias mixed with lanterns. All was captured by wedding photographer, Tim Halberg.
