Unforgettable Weddings with Bright Event Rentals

Bright Event Rentals’ work truly focuses on the entire collection of experiences that make an event memorable, especially weddings. These event professionals want to make the planning process as easy and fun as possible and know what it takes to pull off an amazing celebration. We were able to pull some information from the Bright team on their best wedding planning experiences and advice for couples leading up to the big day.

Q - What is your favorite location to work? What is the style that makes this location special for couples?

A - There are so many wonderful wedding venues in Santa Barbara, it's hard to narrow it down to just one property. If I had to pick one of my top five locations that stands out the most I would say Dos Pueblos Ranch is a long time favorite. The versatility of the various event spaces on the property lend themselves to almost any style of wedding. Weather it's beach-side, on the bluffs, rustic barn or a great manor house as your backdrop a Bride & Groom could have it all. Not to mention that the property also lends itself well to larger scale productions with ample room for large trucks and great spaces to build out satellite kitchens and portable restrooms without having them right in front of the guests view.

Q - What is your #1 top piece of advice you give to couples before they hire you?

A - Planning your wedding should be a fun and memorable process, be sure to surround yourself with professionals who will work to ensure that you have a great time not only at your wedding celebration but also throughout the entire process.

Q - What is trending with your couples?

A - Much has changed with this 2020 wedding season, we are seeing a shift to small intimate weddings and elopements. However, on the horizon we are still busy planing away for 2021 with clients who are loving stylized lounges with accent rugs and unique pieces like our new Emerald Green side chair. High design bars and bar backs are very popular, clients love to create colorful displays with sleek and stylish specialty glassware. In general I think 2021 Brides & Grooms are shifting to a more sophisticated and luxe residential design aesthetic vs. rustic and vintage.

Q - What are 2 things you wish couples would do for every wedding?

A - I think often times in the budget review and discussion process couples will opt to take on projects themselves rather then look to a seasoned professional to provide a service. What can often happen in this scenario is that the couple's "to do list" ends up miles long and relatively unrealistic to execute in the days leading up to the wedding. My wish would be that couples consider their time with family and friends in the days before the wedding a treasure and try to limit what they plan to "DIY" and as much as possible, contract full service event professionals to help with the details and execution of the celebration. To that end, I also wish more couples would invest in having their rental company or planner provide a diagram of the event space with specific details for the wedding. Having all your vendors "on the same page" helps make the day run smoothly and successfully for all involved.

Q - To date, what wedding have you done that has made the top of your favorite list, and why?

A - I wish I knew how many weddings I've done in my career, probably in excess of 5000, but certainly when you have the pleasure of helping long-time friends get married it marks a special place in your mind and heart. Recently I had the wonderful experience of helping a great friend and colleague plan her wedding, I also had the privilege of being a member of the bridal party (6 months pregnant) and was able to enjoy the entire evening as a guest. I'm rarely on site during the dining portion of the event so to actually sit and experience the delectable food and beverages and celebrate the marriage of friends was truly a treat and left a lasting memory.
