Tasty + Trendy: A Farm to Table Symposium
from Zohe Felici - owner of Santa Barbara Wedding Style -
We hosted a Farm Table Symposium for some of our A-List wedding pros and fellow wedding planners. The interactive lunch was held at a new Santa Barbara venue, Kiva on Chapala, a bright and airy indoor venue dressed with hardwood floors, farm-style wooden tables, mid-century modern decor a functional kitchen and more.
Our vision was to signify rebirth and growth. Spring is around the corner, and with mother nature's recent calamity, we sought to showcase some of the FRESHEST most UNIQUE food lovers' ingredients and interactive form of entertainment one can incorporate into their event and wedding planning.
As guests arrived, they were greeted with Jardesca California Aperitiva "Botanical Bar". Jardesca offers a ‘Garden Fresh Mixology’ DIY cocktail bar where guests learn how to make garden to glass cocktails, including zesting and spanking and more!
Guests enjoyed their cocktails while nibbling on fresh veggie trays accompanied by deliciously tasting dips and hummus made by Farmbelly.
We then invited guests to take a seat for the program, where they learned how to shop, cook, and eat like a farmer with Michelle Aronson, owner of the Farmbelly Cooking School. After the 20 minute presentation, attendees participated in a hands-on workshop where they made their own vinaigrettes and compound butter.
Once finished, guests enjoyed a delicious + nourishing lunch inspired by Santa Barbara's seasonal bounty. The pre-plated spring salad was left undressed for guests to use their own freshly made vinaigrettes, and house made bread paired deliciously with everyone's unique compound butter.
Farmbelly prepared a succulent lunch consisting of oven roasted salmon, a to die for sweet potato and parsnip puree, pasta salad and savory roasted balsamic beets with goat cheese. The nutritious lunch finished with delicious gluten free brownies.
Margaret Joan Florals created a fresh spring table scape using herbs and joyfully colored local floral along the long feasting tables. The flowers created a happy and joyful ambiance and combined well with the assorted potted herbs, to infuse the farm theme of the afternoon.
To keep with the industrial venue vibe and spring and fresh theme, rentals from Town and Country Event Rentals included wooden charges, clay china and green fleur de lis glassware paired with metallic silverware and geometric metal chairs.
Head and Heart Photography captured this afternoon beautifully. Associate photographers Deborah Goulart and Braydon Russell captured the vibrant colors, perfect lighting and delectable dishes.
Thank you to the amazing team of #WeddingPros who made this afternoon one of interactivity, nourishment, fun and springing into rebirth!
XOXO
